Below, I’m presenting tips and codes to transfer a library from EndNote to Excel using an (EndNote) Output Style File.<\/p>\n

Before using the code, you should note that only the following reference types<\/strong>* will be correctly exported: journal articles, book, book section, edited book, conference proceedings, report, thesis, blog post, electronic article, web page, generic<\/em>.<\/p>\n

How to transfer from EndNote to Excel<\/h2>\n

Exporting from EndNote<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Download the Output Style File (*.ENS) here<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. In EndNote, open the library you wish to export to Excel<\/li>\n
  3. In your downloads folder, open the ENS file you downloaded. It will open it as a style to edit in EndNote<\/em><\/li>\n
  4. Save it using the name “EndNote to Excel” (you can change it, just remember it!)<\/li>\n
  5. Back in your library, in Bibliographic Output Style\"EndNote<\/li>\n
  6. Find “EndNote to Excel” and click “Choose”\"EndNote<\/li>\n
  7. Select all the references you wish to export to Excel<\/li>\n
  8. In “File”, click on “Export…”<\/li>\n
  9. Select “Text File (*.txt)” as save type and “EndNote to Excel” as Output style\"EndNote<\/li>\n
  10. Save and note the location of the new TXT file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Import in Excel<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. In Excel, on a new spreadsheet, import the library using the “From Text” functionality (or “Import from text file” in earlier Excel versions). It will open the Text Import Wizard<\/em>\"EndNote<\/li>\n
    2. Choose “Delimited”, click “Next”\"EndNote<\/li>\n
    3. Check only “Tab”, click “Next”\"EndNote<\/li>\n
    4. The default settings should be “General”, click “Next”\"EndNote<\/li>\n
    5. Confirm where you want the data to be added and Voil\u00e0 !<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
