Blog Policy

Disclaimer

The views expressed in this blog reflect solely those of the author’s and not the institutions to which he/she is affiliated. This also means that the articles should be cited using the author’s name and not the institution’s name.

Blog policy on content use & reuse

Our blog policy is open access. It means that while the author(s)’s authorship of the article or the photography must be respected (cite the original source!), anyone can use and reuse the content published on this website – unless precised otherwise by the author(s) her/him/themselves. We would really appreciate an email to let us know that you used some of our content elsewhere!

While we are still working on making this a reality, we wish to make all data presented in this blog available to the public, so anyone can reproduce the analysis and participate to the discussion.

Comments & discussion

Data live to spark discussions, debates and action. Thus, we favor an open blog policy, welcoming readers’ comments and discussion. Nevertheless, there are some basic rules of Internet etiquette about commenting on blogs to keep the discussion interesting and relevant:

  1. Every comment submitted is automatically checked for spam. If it does not appear automatically on the blog, it may have been marked for review by us (this may happen the first time you post a comment and will not happen again).
  2. We can disapprove or mark as spam any comment that is deemed inappropriate, based on their content and format. Such comments include (but are not restricted to):
    • Comments that are not related to the article;
    • Comments written in another language than the one used in the article;
    • Comments that contain discriminatory references;
    • Comments that are associated or may lead to an external source or website that is judged inappropriate (ex: commercial websites, unrelated video or other media, etc.)
  3. Comment approval does not mean endorsement by the blog’s administrators or by the article’s author(s).

The same rules apply to WordPress’ Trackbacks and Pingbacks.
